Magento shop and warehouse management integration for Party Comet

The proposal was to design and create a new Magento 2 eCommerce website for Party Comet.
We initially shortlisted a handful of Magento themes, from which one was chosen that best matched the brand and contained the most suitable features.
The Magento 2 platform is one of the leading enterprise level e-commerce systems and provides a very high-level of expandability at a relatively low cost. The Party Comet website required a few additional features beyond what is included in Mageto out of the box:
Inventory/Warehouse Management
Magento includes robust stock management, however it does not accommodate for physical warehouse activities. In order to provide inventory management functionality, the client uses separate off-the-shelf software. This software offers:
-
Check in stock from deliveries with bar codes on items.
-
Warehouse staff can scan bar codes when picking and packing deliveries.
-
Control stock in warehouse (stock taking & adjustments).
-
Information on physical product location within warehouse.
-
Low stock alerts.
In order to integrate this software within the website, we installed and configured some additional modules within Magento. Now the system exports order details to the warehouse software (installed on site). The warehouse software in turn provides stock levels to Magento. This works dynamically near real-time, so orders can be quickly processed and dispatched, and stock notifications on the website reflect real-world stock levels.
Royal Mail Postage
We expanded Magento to integrate with Royal Mail’s Click and Drop service. When an order has been confirmed the postage is automatically calculated, and a Royal-Mail shipping label can be printed for attachment to the parcel.
Xero
Xero is an online software solution for managing accounts, invoices and expenses. After installing a third-party extension, Magento now automatically sends invoices for new orders straight to Xero, where they can be processed.
eBay & Amazon
eBay & Amazon integration was achieved by using a third-party extension that links merchant accounts in to Magento.
Product data is sent to Amazon & eBay to be listed automatically. Any orders made on Amazon or eBay are automatically imported back into Magento, which will update stock levels and generate invoices.
