Objective

Vertex VT needed a better way for their clients to access the reports and documents they produced for them. Previously files were stored and transferred by a variety of methods.

Webbed Feet UK built a secure client portal that means documents don’t need to be manually emailed and their clients have a single place to find all their documents. The result is a system that is easy for Vertex to manage and makes life simpler for Vertex and their clients.

Vertex VT needed a portal that:

• Keeps documents in one, secure location
• Reduces their admin time
• Makes their clients’ lives easier

The portal

We designed the client portal to match Vertex VT’s workflow. It allows them to:

• Manage their clients and client employees
• Organise the sites and lifts for each client
• Finely control document access, with multiple levels of client users
• Easily upload and manage their documents

Their clients can:

• Securely login and manage their accounts
• Quickly view all buildings and lifts they own
• Easily find, view and download the documents they need

The technology

The web portal was developed in PHP using the laravel and Filament frameworks. This allowed us to quickly build a clean, reliable portal. These are popular and well supported technologies which make it easier to maintain, update and expand over time.

The portal is hosted on reliable and scalable infrastructure, so that it performs quickly, reliably and it can be easily scaled with demand.

The portal was built with security in mind from the outset, documents are stored securely, encrypted in transit and have strict access controls.

The result

Vertex have reduced their time spent administering documents and the need to deal with client requests for documents. Their clients now have a single place to quickly retrieve all their documents.

The documents are securely stored, with strong access control. The system is hosted on reliable infrastructure and will be easy to maintain and extend in the future.

The project was delivered ahead of schedule and on budget.
